What a weekend

By Andrew Tunney

Started the weekend yesterday with the idea of taking Matt for a bit of a drive and then nothing really other than taking Max for a walk n the afternoon.

That soon changed; Jacinda called asking if I wanted to earn some money at the Woree pool mowing the grass areas with a few other guys.  So with the Ranger in mind I agreed and at 11:00am I headed off with the kids in tow and in suitable clothing for mowing in the middle of the Summer day in 34 degree heat (93 degrees on the Fahrenheit scale for my American friends); comprising of a long sleeve shirt and wide brimmed hat and sunscreen.

We started at 1:00pm and went through to 5:00pm or just before and crashed at 10:30pm last night totally wrecked.
When I got back home with Matt; I remembered that I started defrosting the outside fridge Freezer which was now able to have the freezer door opened.  I removed with Matt’s help probably about 5kg of built up ice and then cleaned out the rest of the freezer with a towel and then placed everything back in and turned the fridge back on again.

This morning I went out to restock the fridge with the drinks again that I packed into an esky with ice yesterday and it was a pleasure to be able to open the freezer door just out of interest.  I really need to replace the fridge as it will cost nearly the same amount to get the seals replaced on it as it is a really old fridge, but it still works with no problems so we keep it.  I just need to keep a closer eye on the freezer and not forget it.

After that, I went and took Max for his walk which he was really happy to see the lead and his chain.  once we got back I bundled Matt into the shower and we went and had a boys dinner at the Cock and Bull Tavern.  A pint of light beer (hey, I was driving), 350gm steak, mash and veggies never tasted so good!!

This morning I went down to the shops with Matt and had a morning tea there with matt enjoying a Doughnut.

Friday saw me finally getting the work mail-out completed and off to the post office, some $1200 odd dollars later it was on it’s way to the relevant recipients.  I have never been so glad to see the end of the that, 2317 letter all folded and placed into envelopes after starting it on Sunday last weekend.

So with all that out of the way, it’s back to work again tomorrow; now where did that weekend go to?
