Good day
Posted by: | CommentsWell, I thought about this last night but only spoke to Matt about it this morning.
I thought that he would like to go and see a movie today, namely How To Train Your Dragon as it was a kiddie flick and there have been several good reports about it, so I asked him and he jumped at it; then I asked if he would like to see IronMan 2 instead and he didn’t even hesitate! That’s my boy, blow away the kiddie flick for the action flick! 
So I booked the tickets online for the movie and we headed off at 10:00am for the 10:40am screening. Top of our list was to make a toilet stop as it’s no fun taking kids to the cinema when they need to go to the toilet half way through, then there was the popcorn and coke pack to accompany the movie with IronMan cup and huge (fridge) magnet on the popcorn box.
Matt loves his popcorn, and today was no exception; we were nearly half way through the huge box before the movie even started!
All up he sat glued to the movie the whole way through and enjoyed it despite a few parts getting “scary”; I got him to move the drink / arm rest to an upright position and he lay down on my lap until the scary bits were over.
Once we got home, we took Max for a walk and also took his yellow ‘bouncy ball’ as well to the park and wore him out, poor dog hasn’t had a walk all week and he really appreciated being off his lead and being able to blow a few cobwebs out of his system and it also helped Matt to wear out the effects of the Coke and popcorn chasing him as well

They both had a ball this afternoon and you can always tell when you’ve worn Max out as he doesn’t pull on his lead on the way back home, he certainly didn’t today.
After that we went home and then started cleaning up Matt’s disaster of a room; honestly, is there a 5 year old on the planet that doesn’t have a room resembling downtown Afghanistan after a bomber has struck?
Anyway, that’s all for today as I now have a tequila and fresh lime to finish and FooFighters playing while I write this; have a good weekend everyone!
Job list going down
Posted by: | CommentsSo yesterday I managed to get the various pages that I had people using paid links on working again. This was caused by the migration to the new web host and the permalink structure. Once I changed the permalink structure back to the default, everything worked again and my paid link customers are happy again – always good!
Got several loads of washing done yesterday and hung out then just as I’m typing this the rain is coming down drenching it – Murphy’s lawto say the least.
Last night, Matt and I wen to go and see AstroBoy and had dinner at Fasta Pasta in Cairns. Fasta Pasta is Matts favourite restaurant, every time he goes there; he has ravioli bolognaise with a small Coke and ice cream for under $10.00 so it’s a pretty good deal and affordable too!
The movie cost more than Matt’s dinner but for a cartoon movie, it was pretty good. Matt found it scary in a few parts but he did sit through it and enjoyed it all up. His new phrase is now “What?? I have machine guns in my butt??”
Today, we’ve got Matt’s room to clean and then go get a few things from the shops. His electric toothbrush needs new battery and then we’re pretty much free for the rest of the day.
Matt’s new TV
Posted by: | CommentsWell, after about a week of telling Matt that he had a surprise coming; it finally arrived today and was he ever happy?
You bet he is! Two weeks ago I bought him a new TV with built in DVD player from Kogan. Specifically it was the Kogan PRO16 model; the old TV that he had in his room was a hand-me-down from his sisters which only played videos. Given that most of his movies are DVD’s, it wasn’t much fun for him especially when there is no aerial in his room to tune in TV.
I’ll get some pictures and post a full review over the weekend when I’ve had chance to clean up his room a bit
