I separated about 3 years ago, on good terms (initially), and have only today, completed the financial consent orders. Like you, my 10 Y.O. son is of primary concern, but the finances became very messy once she demanded a divorce, yet expected me to keep paying the credit card, and then demanded a lot of non-existant $. So after all this time, things are finally back to normal. I would never have believed that it would have taken 3 years to sort out the finances. I must say I know what you are going through.
